We are excited to be partnering with Empresas Públicas de Medellín (EPM) and Facultad de Minas – Universidad Nacional de Colombia to test our methane capture technology at Porce II’s hydropower plant in Colombia.
The project kicked off in September with our brilliant Eliana Bohórquez Bedoya, Luis Alfonso Ramirez Cerquera and Andres Pinilla Angarita visiting the project to determine the exact location for the deployment of our proof of concept.
There are three stages to the project. Firstly, we will be measuring levels of dissolved methane in the hydropower reservoirs. Secondly, we will be deploying our methane capture technology, learning through in situ testing and on-going optimisation. Lastly, we will complete an impact assessment.
The project is an important milestone to test our methane capture technology at the first hydropower reservoir in South America.
