Our first production methane capture system, “Stephanie”, goes live at a UK biogas plant

As our first production unit, we are immensely proud of Stephanie and all that she will achieve. By capturing residual methane from the site’s post-digested sludge, she will increase biogas production, improve operational efficiency, reduce the carbon intensity of the site’s bioenergy, and prevent hundreds of tonnes of CO2e scope 3 emissions.

We’re excited to announce the deployment of our first production-scale methane capture unit, “Stephanie,” at a biogas plant on the Isle of Wight, in England. This marks a major milestone for us as we transition from pilot projects to commercial operations.

Stephanie will capture residual methane from the site’s post-digested sludge, a process that boosts overall biogas production. This increased production translates to higher revenue and improved operational efficiency for the plant. And, by preventing the release of this methane, Stephanie will play a crucial role in reducing the carbon intensity of the site’s bioenergy output, contributing to a substantial reduction in overall greenhouse gas emissions (hundreds of tonnes of CO2e).

This deployment will demonstrate the real-world effectiveness of Bluemethane’s technology in enhancing biogas operations and supporting the growth of renewable energy.

Good luck Stephanie! You can do it!
