Deploying our proof of concept in Colombia

Bluemethane is deploying methane capture technology at the Porce II hydropower dam, Colombia. We will be measuring, valuing and capturing methane emissions from early 2022.

This is a global-first technology to capture methane emissions from hydropower reservoirs and turn these captured emissions into additional power.

Meeting for the first time in person, here’s Nestor Rueda-Vallejo, Bluemethane’s Technical Director, together with Eliana Bohórquez Bedoya, our very own GHG scientist.

We can’t wait to get started on this ground breaking project, another important step on the journey towards achieving our mission of removing one billion tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions from water.
