Emily is the first instrument to deliver continuous, real-time measurement of dissolved and entrained methane directly in digestate, inline, at operating sites. Developed with Scottish Water, United Utilities, and Cranfield University, and deployed at Anglian Water, Bluemethane Emily is taking orders.

Before Emily, operators had no way of knowing how much methane was leaving their digesters in the liquid stream. The figure was estimated, modelled, or ignored, none of which is adequate for sites facing tightening emissions reporting requirements or trying to optimise biogas recovery. Bluemethane Emily installs directly on the sample line and delivers a continuous reading in real time. Knowing the methane measurement from sludge stream changes the conversation entirely, between operators and their process, between water companies and their regulators, and between the sector and the scale of the problem it has been overlooking. Emily does not require process changes, civil works, or integration complexity. She reads what is there. That is enough.
