Methane capture from digestate is validated

Bluemethane Chloe, our methane capture technology, has been independently validated across two sludge treatment processes – conventional digestion at Thames Water’s East Hyde site, and thermal hydrolysis pretreatment at Anglian Water’s Cotton Valley, delivering stable methane-rich biogas, a 1.5x energy-positive balance, and on-time delivery at both sites. She is available now and taking orders.

Chloe applies controlled pressure variation, turbulence, and gravity-driven separation to remove methane from sludge at the point where it is easiest and most practical to capture, directly on the digestate line, before it reaches dewatering or downstream handling. The captured gas returns to the site’s existing CHP or biomethane infrastructure, improving site-level energy performance without adding process complexity. The system is containerised, ATEX-certified and WIMES-compliant. No major civil works. No process step additions. Methane degassed and recovered before it escapes. Every deployment so far has been delivered on time and on budget.
