What’s in a name? Quite a lot.

Chloe, Brutus and Emily are Bluemethane family. We treat them that way. But what is behind their names?

Our technology has always been personal. These systems are our response to the climate crisis – designed to prevent the most methane from liquids, using the least energy, at the lowest cost. Naming them was never a marketing exercise; it just felt natural.

Before Chloe, Brutus and Emily, we had Harvey (the methane harvester) and Stephanie (because she had steps). Now that we’re a little more grown‑up, the names remain rooted in purpose:

  • Chloe — Lowers Methane (CH4) Emissions
  • Brutus — stops methanogenesis, stabbing methane in the back. Et tu, methane.
  • Emily — born from the Environmental Monitoring Innovation (EMI) grant from Innovate UK

We’ve considered formal, technical names. We even tried them for a few weeks. But that’s not who we are. We’re here for impact, with energy and intent — and Chloe, Brutus and Emily help us get there.
