Eight water companies. One industry first.

Eight water companies. One industry first.

Southern Water joins the Brutus project – and the sector shows what joined-up action can look like.

We are proud to confirm that Southern Water has joined the Bluemethane Brutus prevention project, bringing the total number of engaged UK water companies to eight. The seven funded partners are Southern Water, Anglian Water, Scottish Water, Wessex Water, Welsh Water, Yorkshire Water, and United Utilities. Thames Water also tested the units on their Luton site.

No single emissions reduction technology, to our knowledge, has been piloted simultaneously by this proportion of the UK water sector. The Industrial Emissions Directive sets a demanding compliance goal with a tight implementation deadline – and rather than waiting for a solution to arrive, these companies came together to help build one. Bluemethane is proud to be driving that collaboration and that conversation. The sector is moving. We are moving with it.
