Improve digester health by measuring methane in digested sludge

Methane measurement is the first step in effective methane management

In-situ, real-time methane measurement for digestate and sludge. Accurate methane management in complex liquids is the first step in effective methane management.

  • Measures residual methane directly within liquid waste streams
  • Quantifies both dissolved and entrained methane in sludge and wastewater
  • Provides real‑time, in‑situ methane concentration data
  • Operates under challenging wastewater conditions, including high solids
  • Generates measurement data to support emissions reporting, recovery and optimisation decisions

Bluemethane Emily

Emily measures methane in liquids. She is the first real-time continuous measurement system able to accurately quantify both dissolved and entrained methane in complex fluids such as wastewater and sludge. Emily provides operators with immediate data that was previously inaccessible, enabling process optimisation, inform investment decisions and enabling emissions mitigation.

Measuring specifications.

Emily is installed directly on the sample line, delivering continuous, real-time methane data from complex liquid streams.

Working range: 0–80 mg/litre

Accuracy: 5–10% (compared to lab GC)

Detection limit: 1 mg/litre

Response time: 5–15 minutes

Liquids: Up to 12% solids, foam, macro solids and sample pressures up to 2 bar
