Prototype reaches 80% methane removal efficiency

Successful technical testing: Our latest prototype tested in December reached methane removal efficiencies of up to 80%.

In December 2022, experimental studies of our latest prototype were conducted. The prototype included all fundamental elements of our proposed design – tested together for the first time. During testing of this complete system (spillway and secondary tank), we reached methane removal efficiencies of up to 80%. These were great results and in line with our projected modelling and simulations.

What happens next? We are making further physical optimisation and modelling improvements and will build our methane capture proof of concept, to deploy in Lake Kivu, Rwanda with our energy partner, Shema Power Lake Kivu, in June/July 2023.
